Willie Revillame Binenta Ang Sasakyan Para Idonate Sa Mga Nasalanta ng Bagyong Ulysses
Comedian and TV personality Willie Revillame is being praised online as he sells his luxurious car to be able to donate to the victims of the Typhoon Ulysses in the Philippines last week. On his recent episode aired on the internet, Wowowin, Willie shares his plan to donate all the proceeds of his sale to the fellow Filipinos who are in need of financial assistance right now, given their difficult situation. He also adds a few more cash to his 7-million sale from his personal savings.
Willie Revillame is known for having a heart especially for the poor and the needy. Even though he had faced many controversies and issues, the renowned TV host gains respect from his fellow Filipinos for his acts of kindness and generosity especially on his variety show. He is known for owning a lot of properties, luxury cars, and even his own condominium building named after him, but despite the riches and fortune he has in life, his name is always present during the times of need and calamity calls. He often donates a large portion of his money in order to alleviate the situation of his kababayans especially those who had first-handedly experienced the aftermath of the calamity.
So during the recent strike of the Typhoon Ulysses in the Philippines, Willie decided to put his car on a rush sale and bagged a 7-million from it, which he decides to add more from his savings so he can set his plan in motion by donating 5 million pesos to Montalban, Rizal and another 5 million to Marikina. The comedian-TV host also mentions in his show, Wowowin:
“Aanhin ko ho 'yung kotse kung marami akong kababayan na naghihirap? Kahit magbenta pa [ako] ng kahit anong pag-aari, pag-aari mo na hindi mo na kailangan. I think this is the right time.”
[What will I do with my cars and properties knowing that there are my fellow Filipinos suffering during these times? I wouldn’t mind selling off cars and properties at all in order to help. I think this is the right time.]
This just goes to show that the TV personality is more than what he is or what people say about him. Despite the controversies and bash thrown at him, Willie stands tall and resilient for his advocacy to help people who are in need.
